  • What is the Brother Care Program?

    It’s a FREE membership program where customers can sign up to gain access to benefits like exclusive deals, free shipping, extended warranties, and personalized offers on supplies specific to their printer, applicable on brother.ca orders.

  • How can I sign up to the Brother Care Program?

    Signing up is quick and easy. Here are some simple ways to join today:


      • Already have an account? Go to My-Account, and click on the My Preferences section and join Brother Care to qualify for benefits.

      • Through the Newsletter. Note: users must create an account or be signed-in to redeem offers.

      • At the moment you Register a product and sign up to the program in the process.

      • Have a printer? Connect your printer with Brother directly through the Brother Mobile Connect App.


  • How can I get the extended warranty for eligible product(s) I’ve already purchased?

    Simply register your eligible product(s) on brother.ca as a primary step, or directly through the Brother Mobile Connect App, or Brother desktop applications, and sign up to the Brother Care Program if you haven’t already. The 6-months extended warranty benefit is conditional upon:


      • Printer compatibility.

      • Product Registration, either on brother.ca (as a primary step), or directly on the App.

      • Joining the Brother Care Program and agreeing to receive email communications from Brother Canada.

      • Agreeing to share printer-data, which includes visibility on printer usage, performance, and settings, but not what you print. The purpose of this is to customize your experience with Brother. We take your privacy seriously, and your printer information will be managed according to our Privacy Policy.

      • No other extended limited warranty associated with your Brother product.


    If your machine is out of warranty, it is no longer eligible for an extended warranty. You are, however, able to sign up for the Brother Care Program so you can enjoy the other benefits offered by the program, such as exclusive deals and free shipping.

  • What does the extended limited warranty cover?

    The extended limited warranty offered in the Brother Care Program is an extension of Brother’s standard manufacturer’s product warranty that accompanies each new product.

  • Do I need to sign up more than once?

    Signing up to the Brother Care Program is required only once. Once signed up, you will be eligible to enjoy the benefits of the program. To obtain the extended warranty benefit, you must register the eligible product, either starting on brother.ca or directly through the Brother Mobile Connect App or Brother Desktop applications, and then fully connect your printer with Brother by agreeing to printer-data sharing. Eligible products must still be in warranty at the time of registration to receive the extended warranty benefit.

    To continue to take advantage of the Brother Care Program benefits, which include your extended warranty and tailored savings on ink & toner, you must stay opted-in to receive email communications from Brother. By opting out of receiving email communications from Brother, your product will no longer be eligible for the extended warranty and other benefits of the program.

  • Can I transfer my warranty from another product?

    The Brother Care Program is only applicable to your registered Brother product. You cannot transfer your warranty to another product.

  • Is free standard shipping applicable to all Canadian provinces?

    Free standard shipping is applicable to Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

    Free standard shipping is not applicable to Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon.

  • How can I update my communication preferences?


      i. Sign in to your account on brother.ca.

      ii. Click "My Account" in the left navigation menu.

      iii. Select "My Preferences" in the sub menu

      iv. From this screen you can update Brother Care communication preferences, Language preferences, and SMS preferences (including phone number) by using the On/Off toggles.

      v. After you make your selection, click "Update My Preferences" at the bottom of the screen to confirm your choices.


    Note: Cancelling your enrollment in the Brother Care Program will sever ALL granted benefits, including extended limited warranty and promotional savings on ink & toner. To manage your connected devices, you may select "Manage your connected devices" on the same screen.

  • General Questions about Brother Printer Settings

  • How do I disconnect my printer from printer-data sharing?

    You can manage your connected devices when you’re signed into your account by navigating to "My Account". Click "My-Preferences" and then ‘Manage your connected devices’, which will take you to the "My Printers" screen, or directly click "My Printers" on the left navigation menu.


      i. Click "Disconnect Device" in the pop-up window that appears.

      ii. In the bottom left corner of the same pop-up window, click "Remove Device"

        a. Note: If your printer is enrolled in the Brother Refresh Subscription service, you will need to unenroll from that service first.

        Cancelling your subscription will disconnect your printer from Brother servers and therefore sever ALL granted benefits, including extended limited warranty and tailored savings on ink & toner.



  • How does Brother know how many pages I printed?

    Once you register your product and consent to printer-data sharing, your printer sends information on machine usage, such as how many pages have been printed, and ink or toner levels. With this data, Brother can customize offers on ink & toner that are compatible to your machine.

  • Can Brother see what I have printed?

    No, Brother cannot see the contents of what you have printed or even the file names of what you have printed. Brother only has access to the number of pages printed, the ink or toner composition of those pages (such as whether you printed in colour or black and white), and if those pages were printed single or double-sided.   • Where can I find my personalized discounts and offers?

    Log into your account and navigate to "My-Account". On the lefthand navigation pane, click My Notifications to view your offers.

  • How can I see how long is left on my warranty?


      i. Click on "My Printer" in the left navigation menu.

      ii. Click on the View Details button for your desired printer, and you will see your warranty information.


  • What is a duplex page?

    A duplex page is a document printed on both the front and back of the sheet of paper. Duplex printing reduces paper usage, which can lead to cost savings and a lower environmental impact.

  • What does non-Genuine ink or toner mean?

    Non-Genuine ink or toner refers to ink or toner that was not manufactured by Brother Industries. Since Brother does not manufacture this ink or toner, we cannot guarantee its quality or accurately estimate its remaining yield.

  • How can I change the name of my printer?


      i. Log into your account and navigate to "My-Account". On the lefthand navigation pane, click "My Printers".

      ii. Click on the ‘gear’ icon for the desired printer to view Printer Details.

      iii. In the Printer Details window, enter the new name in the Printer Name field.

      iv. Click the ‘Save Changes’ button.
